One of the things I see a LOT in classes is the challenge of finding the right color and being unhappy with the result. Knowing the colors that are in your pans or tubes, understanding how to mix what you have to achieve a desired hue and value is essential to success. We will learn the essentials of colors, the color wheel, values, color harmony, and mixing. We'll paint a color wheel with graduated values with your own colors so that you have a reference for your own paints. We will learn to paint some color charts to understand how you can find your own colors.
Bring with you: watercolors, specifically a yellow, red, and blue for the color wheel, two water containers, pencil and eraser, several sheets watercolor paper your choice, size should be at least 8 square to accommodate the circle. The brushes I will be using are No. 6, 8 rounds.
You will walk down a grassy hill in the back yard to get to the cabin, and then back up when you go, so wear appropriate shoes.
